Mtskheta-one of the oldest cities of Georgia, is located approximately 20 kilometres north of Tbilisi. To its historical significance and several cultural monuments, the “Historical Monuments of Mtskheta” became a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The Historical Monuments of Mtskheta contain archeological remains of great significance that testify to the high culture in the art of building, masonry crafts, pottery, as well as metal casting and processing, and the social, political, and economic evolution of this mountain kingdom for some four millennia.

At 09:00 our driver and guide will pick you up at Pushkini park, close to Liberty Square and start driving to Mtskheta, the ancient capital of the eastern Georgia. Mtskheta has maintained its role as the spiritual and cultural centre of the country, assumed ever since the introduction of Christianity in the region. First stop is Jvari Monastery dating back to 6th century AD, standing on the hill, it overlooks the town of Mtskheta. From this place you see how two rivers, Mtkvari and Aragvi crossing each other and make delta. Along with other historic structures of Mtskheta it is listed as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. After visiting Jvari Monastery drive down and reach Svetitskhoveli Cathedral, which is one of the most holiest places in whole Georgia. It is known as a place where Christ’s robe was buried. Small fragments of paintings which date back to 11th century let you live through the lives of ancient Georgia, leaving you amazed and stunned. It is also listed as the UNESCO world heritage.
Our nexst destionation is Chateau Mukhrani-Georgian royal family estate, built in the 19th century by the heir of the royal family, Ivane Mukhranbatoni. This is the first and the only true Georgian Royal Chateau, which unites four key components: vineyards, winery, castle and history. The chateau is filled with unique wine cellars and surrounded by breathtaking gardens. From Chateau Mukhrani we continue our way to Uplistsikhe-an ancient cave town,built on a high rock left bank of the Mtkvari. Uplistsikhe has been identified as one of the oldest urban settlements in Georgia. It was a major religious, political and cultural center.It is notable for the unique combination of various archeological and architectural monuments, the oldest dates back to the early bronze age and are considered to be relics of the Kura-Araxes culture. At the top of the complex is a Christian stone basilica, dating from 10th century.
After uplistsikhe we will go to gori-an ancient city located on the silk way. Here was born Joseph Stalin. So we will visit the museum of stalin. Among the ancient sights of Gori the ruins of an ancient fortress Goristsikhe located on a hill in the city centre.
